The story of a shirt that became a new shirt. In 2001, while working as a design director at GAP, I collaborated with Amhot International in Japan on a collection of shirts featuring exquisite woven stripes and dobbies. Fast forward 20+ years, and I stumbled upon these forgotten gems in a bin. An organized hoarder of beautiful things, I rescued them from a past development trip to Asia. Slashed to avoid duty, these shirts have undergone a revival as I work on creating new and relevant garments.
